Gottlieb + Loyola:  Advancing The Care

Loyola University Health System (LUHS) at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital is a 250-bed, not-for-profit, community hospital founded in 1961. In almost 50 years, Gottlieb has grown from one small building to a sprawling, 36-acre, university-affiliated, medical center in Melrose Park, located approximately 15 minutes west of downtown Chicago. In 2008, Gottlieb became part of LUHS. Gottlieb became a part of the Loyola University Health System in July 2008.

The Loyola University Health System at Melrose Park campus features:

  • Emergency Department and Level II Trauma Center with heliport
  • Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center
  • Sleep Lab and Diagnostic Center
  • Birth Center with private labor/delivery/recovery rooms
  • Mammography department with osteoporosis testing and educational programs
  • Professional Office Building (connected to the hospital) that is home to about 100 physician offices, as well as Eye and Hearing Centers, Gift Shop, and retail Pharmacy
  • Adult Day Center and the Rehab Services building (connected to the hospital) where outpatients go for Physical, Occupational and Speech therapies, Cardiac Rehab Phase II and Pulmonary Rehab
  • Marjorie G. Weinberg Cancer Care Center
  • Home Health Center and Hospice

The 250-bed hospital employs about 1,200 individuals, and has more than 300 physicians and dentists on staff, plus an additional 200 volunteers.
