Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine uses safe, painless techniques to take images of the body and treat disease. It differs from other Medical Imaging tests because it provides information about the function and structure of every major organ system in the body. It can also measure how much function is present in an organ, often eliminating the need for surgery.

Nuclear Medicine procedures are among the safest Medical Imaging tests available. A patient will only receive a small amount of radioactive materials, equal to or less than that of a diagnostic x-ray. In fact, the amount of radiation received for the tests is the same as that acquired during a few months of normal living.

Standard outpatient appointments are available:

Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Emergencies are taken 24 hours a day in the Emergency Department.
