Fetal Assessment Center

Moms-to-be will have access to Loyola’s cutting edge expertise in high-risk pregnancies at the Professional Office Building at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. A full-service Fetal Assessment Center, established and operated by Loyola University Health System, is scheduled to arrive at Gottlieb in October.

Loyola’s experienced perinatologists, who have advanced maternal-fetal medicine training, work as a team with your doctor to diagnose, treat and monitor conditions that can lead to complications during pregnancy and/or delivery.

Those underlying conditions include:

  • Pre-term labor
  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension or heart disease
  • Previous miscarriages
  • Lupus
  • Cancer
  • History of congenital abnormalities
  • Chromosomal or congenital abnormalities of the fetus
  • Other medical or surgical complications of the pregnancy

A wide range of resources is available, which include advanced diagnostics and specialized care, such as high-resolution ultrasounds and medical-therapeutic monitoring of fetuses.

In the past year, Loyola maternal-fetal medicine physicians have participated in 4,300 high-risk obstetrics consultations.
