Gottlieb's Birth Center offers a variety of classes for expectant parents and their families. These informative classes, taught by experienced registered nurses, certified childbirth educators and international board certified lactation consultants will meet your needs and help you prepare for the new addition to your family.
Evening Program (Two sessions, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.)
Saturday Program (One session, 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
These sessions cover topics such as birth planning, labor and delivery, cesarean birth, emotional aspects of pregnancy, delivery and postpartum expectations. The registered nurse instructing the class will discuss both non-medicated labor techniques and medicated labor interventions. The class also includes a tour of the Family-Centered Care Unit, and childbirth preparation book.
Evening Program (One session, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.)
Taught by a bilingual registered nurse, these classes include everything listed in the Basic Childbirth Preparation Class.

Breastfeeding benefits you and your baby in many ways physically as well as emotionally. This class is taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and provides information regarding:
This class is designed to build a new mother's confidence and provide you with information you need to know about breastfeeding before you come in to deliver. This class also includes a book on breastfeeding.
Evening Program (One session, 7 - 9 p.m.)
Saturday Program (One session, 10:30 - 11 a.m.)
This class is designed especially for first time parents and will explore topics such as feeding, diapering, bathing, crying, sleep patterns, signs of illness and safety issues such as car seats. A pediatrician may be available to answer questions and give an overview of key areas such as immunizations, choosing a pediatrician and what to expect from your baby's doctor. This class is taught by experienced registered nurses and a registered nurse childbirth educator. An infant care book is included.
Evening Program (One session, 7 - 8:30 p.m.)
This class provides information and strategies for prevening cardio-pulmonary arrest in infants as well as the skills necessary to initiate cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). A registered nurse certified instructor teaches this class.
