Gottlieb Auxiliary and Medical Staff Award College Scholarships

The Auxiliary and medical staff of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital awarded their annual scholarships of $1,000 each to nine high school graduates of 2007 and five college students. A separate scholarship was awarded to Olga Zeglinski of Elmwood Park by Dilip Patel, MD, and his wife, Krishna Patel, MD; both practice internal medicine at Gottlieb.  All students are selected on the basis of grades and expressed interest in pursuing careers in the medical field.

Gottlieb 2007 High School Graduating Senior Scholarship Recipients:

  • Olga Zeglinski of Elmwood Park, a graduate of Elmwood Park and now at the University of Chicago studying pre-medicine
  • Jessalyn White of Elmwood Park, a graduate of  Elmwood Park, now a freshman at Purdue studying pharmacy
  • Forum Dave of Melrose Park, a graduate of West Leyden now a freshman at the University of Illinois at Chicago studying psychology
  • Michael DiMaso of Franklin Park, a graduate of East Leyden now in pre-med at Northwestern
  • Krishma Verma of Hillside, a graduate of Proviso West now a freshman at Triton College; Ashley Perisee of Oak Park,  a graduate of Oak Park-River Forest now studying nursing at St. Xavier
  • Barbara Lysy of Bensenville, a graduate of Fenton now studying pre-med at the University of Illinois–Champaign
  • Danielle Piagentini of Chicago, a graduate of Guerin College Prep. now a freshman at Illinois State University studying nursing
  • Mary Byrnes of LaGrange, a graduate of Fenwick now studying nursing at Boston College, and Connie Clark, vice president of nursing at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital
  • Ruben Echevarria of Melrose Park, a graduate of Proviso East now a freshman at the University of Illinois-Champaign studying pharmacy.
