November 20, 2008, Melrose Park, Illinois—Gottlieb Memorial Hospital Auxiliary held their 47th annual Emerald Ball on November 1 at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago. Auxiliary president and Melrose Park resident Dorry LaSpisa presented Loyola University Health System Board member, Jack Weinberg with a check for $100,000 to be used for creating a new unit of private, patient rooms at Gottlieb.
Since it’s founding in 1961, the Gottlieb Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has raised more than $5 million for the hospital and its programs for nearly 50 years. The Auxiliary has also awarded more than $200,000 in scholarship money to area high school and college students. They also staff and donate all proceeds from the hospital gift shop to hospital programs.
