The Gottlieb Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine Center has a remarkable 97 percent healing rate for the last year. This exemplary achievement earned the center a distinguished honor of commendation by Diversified Clinical Services, its parent company. Gottlieb was one of only 12 wound care centers to achieve this award. The center was also recognized for their high patient satisfaction and low days-to-heal, which is the length of time it takes to heal a wound.
“We specialize in hard-to-heal wounds such as diabetic ulcers, surgical wound or venous stasis ulcers,” said Richard Viglione, MD, medical director of the Gottlieb Wound Healing Center. “Wounds should heal within four weeks; if they do not, or grow larger or become infected, you need to seek specialized treatment.”
Many doctors refer their patients to the Gottlieb Wound Healing Center for troublesome wounds. “We have specialized dressings, pressure relieving casts, hyperbaric oxygen chambers and other treatments that most doctors do not have access to that improve healing for troublesome wounds,” said Dr. Viglione.
Donald Klaput of Melrose Park was unable to wear a normal shoe for two years, due to a wound that would not heal. “I finally came to the Gottlieb Wound Healing Center and within four months, I was not only wearing normal shoes, but also back on the golf course,” he said.
Gottlieb established the Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine Center in 2005 and is the only hospital in the near west suburbs to have a Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine Center.
